National Gingerbread Latte Day

National Gingerbread Latte Day

These days, there seems to be a day celebrating just about every food and drink under the sun.

But every now and then, one rolls around that just can’t be missed! Let us introduce you to National Gingerbread Latte Day, held annually on December 15th.

A Gingerbread Latte is the perfect seasonal sipper for the winter months. Bursting with festive flavors of cinnamon, clove and ginger, the Gingerbread Latte satisfies cravings, pleases the palate and warms hearts.

We know a basic Latte is a combination of espresso shots and milk. But what transforms a regular latte into a Gingerbread version? At School Grounds Coffee and Gelato bar, it is the addition of Le Monin Gingerbread Syrup and a sprinkling of fresh cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s comforting and delicious!

Have you ever thought about what flavors and products go in to a typical gingerbread? The cinnamon and cloves are easier to identify, but most folks don’t realize gingerbread is usually sweetened with honey or molasses versus regular white cane sugar. We dig this flavor profile and hope you will give it a try on December 15th at a coffee shop near you!
