Autism Awarness Month

autism-awareness-webDid you know one in every 88 children in American has been diagnosed with autism? In order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, join the Autism Society in celebrating National Autism Awareness Month. This month, help to educate others about autism and issues within the autism community.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
1. SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for people with autism by wearing the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon, the most recognized symbol of the autism community in the world. You can pin it on your shirt, buy a magnet for your car, or even upload the symbol and make it your Facebook profile picture. To purchase the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon for your shirt, car, locker or refrigerator, shop online at autism-society.org.

2. MAKE A DIFFERENCE by contacting your representatives at the state and federal levels and asking them to “Vote 4 Autism.”

3. CREATE AN EVENT. If you or someone you know has autism and you want to hold a run or benefit event in their honor, 1Power4Autism is an online tool that makes it easy to mobilize friends and family and help make a difference.

4. GO TO THE MOVIES. Did you know something as simple as going to the movies is not an option for many families affected by autism? The Autism Society is working with AMC Theatres to bring special-needs families Sensory Friendly Films every month. By supporting AMC Theatres, you are helping this happen.
