Downtown Tracy has undergone a transformation in the last half a decade, growing from a sleepy suburb that closed by 6 PM to the vibrant gathering place that it is now. From bistro pubs to breweries and gourmet groceries, we’ve got the places you can’t miss out on when you’re in Downtown Tracy.
Purgatory Craft Whiskey Bar
Pick your poison at Purgatory Craft Whiskey Bar, where the craft cocktails are show stoppers, highlighting some of the more than 200 whiskeys being poured. Or do what manager Josh Duzenski does and order a Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich to go with your Up in Smoke, the bar’s rendition of a smokey Old Fashion with orange bitters. “The big show is that we take some hickory wood and put that in a mesh strainer with some orange peel and then we torch it,” Josh says. “Then once we’ve chilled up the Old Fashion, we pour that over the hickory wood to put out the flame and create the smoke.”

THE|COMMONS
Opening in 2014, this gastropub was one of the first to breathe life back into Downtown Tracy. THE|COMMONS has since become known for its contemporary atmosphere and communal tables – to say nothing of the food. The rotating seasonal meal means there’s always something new to try, but owner John Oh says you can’t go wrong when you order a burger. Keep it classic with the T|C Burger or get saucy with the Italiano Burger, each paired with a house-made, bottled cocktail.

Delta Brews
All are welcome at Delta Brews. For low-key, reggae vibes and your choice of 16 taps, it’s the place to be. Featuring a rotating selection of local and NorCal beers, co-owner Scott Bakker reserves half of the taps for IPAs, with the other half offering a selection of stouts, porters, blondes, and more.
