2021 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
Since 1972, spectators have been gathering to watch competitive eaters cram as many hot dogs as possible down their throats in 10 minutes of less—buns included. The competition typically sees 40,000 in-person spectators (although social distancing rules will likely see this number restricted in 2021) and another 1 million people tuning in from home. On July 4, San Jose’s own Joey Chestnut will go up against other competitive eaters to see if he can bust his own world record—or if anyone else can dethrone the reigning champ.
