Stockton Ports Profile: Mikey White

web1

Michael John White (who goes by Mikey) was introduced to baseball at a very young age. “My dad took me to a Padres game when I was a few days old,” the San Diego-born player shares. “Ever since I started playing when I was four, I have loved it.” Dedication to the sport led Mikey to be selected by the Oakland Athletics out of the University of Alabama in the second round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, and ranked as the major league team’s 20th prospect at the start of the 2016 season. For now, he calls Stockton home, and is enjoying his first year as part of the 2016 Stockton Ports team. We played a round of fill-in-the blanks with the 22-year-old infielder from Alabama to learn about his love of baseball, his dreams for the future, his favorite snacks, and more.
