Baconfest Comes to Dell’Osso Family Farm June 18 & 19

Guy Fieri, the vibrant host of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” will emcee the events bacon-centric cooking contests Saturday and Sunday.

Major League Eating will host the Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest World Bacon Eating Championship at 1:15 PM on Sunday, with a $2,000 grand prize awarded to the winner (i.e. the man or woman able to consume the most bacon). Registration is open! An amateur competition will be hosted, as well.

Live music will provide eaters a soundtrack for the best Father’s Day ever. Among the players will be award winners like Trick Pony, Confunkshun (with local Stockton Musician Ron Moton) and Little Joe y la Familia as well as multiple Grammy Award Winners.

With 40 bacon-inspired food vendors occupying Bacon Alley, there will be no shortage of ways for bacon lovers to indulge in their favorite snack. With cheese? Good. Wrapped around shrimp? Great. Enjoyed with beer? Even better. Wash down your bacon with flavorful beers from more than 20 microbreweries including Lagunitas Petaluma, New Belgium, and Ballast Point.

 “All of our food is going to be served in smaller portions,” Susan says of the Bacon Alley vendors. Each small plate will be about $3-4.

1) Bacon Bouquets (five strips of flavored bacon from Sunny Valley Smoked Meats in Manteca)

3) Bacon Mac n’ Cheese

As always, the Dell’Osso farm caters to families. In addition to grub, kids can enjoy an assortment of activities and events.
