Tillie’s Fine Food & Coffee Company certainly owns up to their name. For over 15 years they’ve offered San Joaquin residents fresh, quality eats and drinks to enjoy in their quaint indoor setting, or outside on their patio, perfectly nestled in downtown Lodi. Open from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, Tillie’s vast menu offers an array of gourmet coffees roasted by Clayton Coffee and Tea in Modesto, specifically for the restaurant. From sandwiches, salads, smoothies and more, Tillie’s bakery display of confections will most certainly tantalize your taste buds and inspire you to add a dessert to your order.
Among the quiche, melt away bars, and others found in the display case, is the Lemon Bar. Made daily by Kim Romans, this slice of lemon heaven is bursting with flavor. From scratch, and “lots of love,” Kim makes and bakes the crust, and fills it with a confection of perfection. “The fresh zest is what gives it a seriously lemony taste,” Kim says.
