Stockton Civic Theatre presents “Legally Blonde: The Musical”

July 5-12

Blonde ambition takes the stage as America’s sweetheart, Elle Woods, comes to life in the Stockton Civic Theatre’s production of Legally Blonde: The musical. The musical, based on the blockbuster, tells Elle’s story as she sets out on a path to self-discovery, attending Harvard Law School and finding friendship in unexpected places along the way. Celebrate the beautiful summer evenings with a movie under the stars, brought to you by Stockton’s Financial Center Credit Union and Community Service Department. The free showings of family favorites like Big Hero 6 or Wreck-it Ralph, are projected on to the canopy at Weber Point Event Center the second Friday of each month. Enjoy fitness as a family every 2nd Saturday of the month with The San Joaquin Bike Coalition. Beginning at UOP’s DeRosa Center, the free ride will give participants a chance to get to know other bicyclists and bike route through Stockton. July Art Workshops @ Haggin Museum

Squish, squash, stretch! The July Summer Art Workshop is a hands-on and gallery experience for young artists ages 6 to 12. The classes will meet in the afternoon from 2- 4 PM, Tuesday through Friday (14-17th). Explore art in three dimensions! The Buddhist Church of Stockton will hosts its free annual cultural and food bazaar for guest of all backgrounds. Each year, the Japanese Obon celebration commemorates loved ones and friends who have gone before us. The festival will include a tours, sushi, martial arts, a display of traditional dances, several impressive flower arrangements and much more entertainment for the whole family. Gather the family, dress in your favorite fan gear and head to the Bob Hope Theatre for the Friends of the Fox showing of Superman. The showing, as part of the classic movie series, will bring the 1978 feature film back to the big screen. The PG rated film features Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel, Marlo Brando as his father, and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. Get there an hour early for drinks, art and snack and music. Kritterz and Kidz Golf Classic

August 21

Lodi’s Micke Grove Zoo, in partnership with the Giving Opportunities to Kids Foundation (GOT), will host the Kritterz and Kidz Golf Classic. The event is aimed at enhancing the resources and opportunities available to local children K-12. Solar Day at the WOW Museum

August 29

The World of Wonders Science Museum in downtown Lodi will host its annual and much anticipated event focused entirely on sunshine! What better way to kick off the school year and end of summer than with fun, educational activities for all ages. Activities include; a chance to race solar cars and bugs, view the sun’s surface through a telescope, build and cook with a solar oven in a pizza box, and opportunity to learn all about solar energy among much more.
