The Finer Things in Life…
Lincoln Cellar is now open and boasts a chic atmosphere, stellar wines, a tantalizing shared plates menu, a brand new wine dispensing system and a perfect place to discover new wines and meet with friends. From the wines and the menus to the ambiance and service, the leadership team at Lincoln Cellar got it right in developing every aspect of the engaging wine bar. Alycia Moreno is a manager and event coordinator at Lincoln Cellar. Together with executive chef and general manager Alex Moreno and owners Sue Arismendi, Maria Mills and Joe Phillips, they have each brought their wine and food passions to Lincoln Cellar.
“We’re a wine bar and restaurant. We have a full menu of sharable plates for lunch and dinner. “All of our dishes are created with wine in mind at Lincoln Cellar.” Both the wines and the cuisine are globally inspired and provide guests with the unique chance to discover new wines and dishes from around the world.
“Our wine list includes some international wines as well as local wines, from Lodi, Paso Robles region and Napa and Sonoma too.” Moreno states. Food runs the global gamut- Chef Alex Moreno is classically trained in French cuisine, has taught Asian cuisine, has a Hispanic background, and has run an Italian restaurant, so entrees are always guaranteed to be creative and combine unique flavors and textures. “We work with all local purveyors and for the most part, you won’t find any of the produce items that we source from any of the big food distributors. We go right to local farmers,” explains Moreno. A variety of unique sharable plates are a perfect way to compliment an evening of excellent wines. The wine club at Lincoln Cellar will be a big draw. “People will be able to subscribe to our wine club and it will have special features for members-from dinners with chef Alex pairing his foods with guest winemakers, wines of the month, and other members-only events,” Moreno states. A private events room that seats 35 is also available for corporate or social events and parties. Check in on the Lincoln Cellar website or Facebook page for a schedule of upcoming events.
Wine Emotion is a state-of-the-art, self-service wine dispensing system that is featured at Lincoln Cellar. “We have 16 available varietals-eight white and eight red available to sample in the Wine Emotion,” Moreno explains. “Simply choose a glass, insert your Wine Emotion card and dispense your choice. You can choose a 2oz., 4oz., or 6oz. pour, which would be considered a full glass. Your card can be loaded with funds in any denomination. The machine is a very chic and modern looking system created in stainless steel. Different wines will rotate through the Wine Emotion dispensing system and will feature wines that are different than what is available by the glass or bottle on the Cellar wine list.
In-house pastry and Sous chef Nichole Basmajian consistently creates unique and delectable desserts from scratch. “Salt-roasted Bosc pear with caramel sauce is a Lincoln Cellar signature dessert”, says Moreno. Other desserts include a house made sorbet trio of cranberry, pear and orange. Each sorbet is made with a small cookie, scratch-made, that compliments each flavor. The late summer peach crisp has also proved to be a popular dessert served with Chévre goat cheese ice cream. Made with fresh local peaches baked into a ramekin, “it’s delightful!” finishes Moreno. Whether stopping in for wine or a selection of small plates and hand-crafted desserts, Lincoln Cellar truly offers its guests a world of flavors.
