Fashionista Fuel

FF1A boutique that offers something for everyone is hard to find. Put it on wheels, offering a personalized shopping experience for any special event and you’ve got Lovely Girl Boutique, Lodi’s newest mobile experience.

Owners Casey Means and Jane Peterson find uniqueness in their shop by applying their own personal taste.

As they are a mother-daughter duo, the team’s individual styles fuel their mission statement, allowing them to cater to all ages and sizes. A few years ago, the growing popularity of food trucks and other mobile businesses sparked Casey’s interest. After the birth of her daughter, Emma, friends and family encouraged her to embark on her dreams of owning her own. Casey approached her mother with the idea, and Jane was thrilled to begin establishing a business with her daughter. “It was really a family affair,” Jane explains. “My husband, Ted, has done construction his whole life, so we designed everything together as a family.”

After purchasing the truck, Ted and Matt [Casey’s husband] brought their design ideas to life in less than three months. This meant a lot to the ladies of Lovely Girl Boutique, because both men worked full time jobs and spent the weekends and holidays constructing their dream. Even the name, Lovely Girl, came to be through a family vote. “We wanted something that sounded pretty, spoke to women, and fit all ages,” Casey explains. Similar to the name, the gals of Lovely Girl Boutique take pride in their inventory’s ability to speak to all ages. “We carry items for all women, ranging from age 20 to… 90,” giggles Casey. “Really! We had a 90-year-old woman come into the truck recently, and she loved our options!” Their styles, which include classic, contemporary and everyday wear, also come in a variety of sizes from extra small to XXL. This aspect was important to Casey, but was also her biggest learning curve, as many vendors are not always true to size. But, Casey and Jane spend lots of time exploring brands in Los Angeles’ fashion district, finding their favorites to represent the store. Currently, Natural Life and Sweet Rain are among their top picks. The quality and flattery of any age offers something for everyone.

FF2In addition to tops and dresses, an array of accessories can be found at Lovely Girl Boutique, from scarves to statement necklaces. Cross body purses and tri-fold wallets in every color, size and style deck the walls of this super-chic truck. Always staying true to their goal, the accessories carried apply to an array of age groups and styles. Another unique aspect of this mobile boutique lies in their specialty, private events! Lovely Girl Boutique is here to spice up your baby shower, summer shindig, or lunch break. Available by appointment, Casey and Jane travel the San Joaquin area bringing the shopping experience to your doorstep or venue for two to three hour sessions. “There is no cost for this personalized shopping experience; we just ask that you have seven or more shoppers,” says Jane. As if you need an incentive, all hosts receive 25 percent off their purchases! “We’re just really having fun with this!” Casey beams. And San Joaquin, we are sure you will too.
